Survey Builder
Create surveys with dropdown, radio button, and free-text question types. Questions are ordered, required flags are configurable, and the survey can be previewed as members will see it before distribution begins.
Anonymous voting mode
Configure any survey as anonymous so individual responses cannot be linked to specific members. This is the required mode for formal votes such as contract ratification ballots, officer elections, and strike authorizations.
LMRDA-compliant electronic voting
eMembership's electronic voting is compliant with the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act of 1959 and the Department of Labor's OLMS guidelines on remote electronic voting, including ballot secrecy, observer rights, and record preservation.
Email distribution from within eMembership
Survey invitations are sent as emails directly from eMembership. Email open tracking is available so administrators can see who opened the invitation and who clicked through to complete the survey.
Member App survey notifications
For unions that include the eMembership Member App, surveys can be distributed as push notifications to members' phones. Members tap the notification to open and complete the survey on their device. The Member App is an optional add-on module.
Third-party survey harvesting
If your union uses SurveyMonkey or another third-party survey tool, eMembership can pull results in via API so responses are captured in the member record alongside surveys run natively. Distribution lists for third-party surveys can also be exported directly from eMembership queries.

Yes. eMembership's electronic voting is compliant with the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act of 1959 and the Department of Labor, Office of Labor-Management Standards compliance guidance on electing union officers using remote electronic voting systems. The module upholds ballot secrecy, observer rights, and record preservation in accordance with those requirements. Members receive an email invitation with a link to the survey. They click the link and complete the survey in a browser. For unions that include the optional eMembership Member App, surveys can also be delivered as push notifications to members' phones, which they tap to open and complete. The survey form is the same regardless of how the member accesses it.
Participant lists are built from any eMembership query or report: chapter rosters, member status filters, event attendance lists, or fully custom ad hoc queries. This means you can send a contract ratification ballot only to members covered under a specific agreement, or a benefits survey only to members at a particular work site, without manually maintaining separate contact lists.

Second, eMembership can harvest survey results back from SurveyMonkey via API so the responses are captured in the member record alongside surveys run natively. This allows unions that prefer a third-party survey tool to still keep results connected to their membership data.
The participant list shows each member's contact status, response status, email address, and the date and time of the last email sent. Administrators can filter the list to show only non-respondents and send follow-up invitations directly from the screen.
